7 Greeners,
You have worked tremendously hard this Term! Mrs C and I are so very proud of you all. I just want to say a big thank you to all the parents and grandparents that came to visit our classroom on Wednesday night. It was delightful to see you all and to see your children excited to show off their hard work from Term 1.
What will Term two bring?
NAPLAN is scheduled for week 4 this term.
English: Persuasive writing
You will be required to write a persuasive essay on a given topic. I have uploaded the criteria ready for you to get stuck into some researching. This assessment will be conducted on Wednesday 28th May - provided all goes to plan. Click here for the criteria sheet.
Grammar, punctuation & spelling
Weeks 1 - 3 will focus on the following areas:
- Classifying adjectives
- Evaluative adjectives
- Exclamation marks
- Question marks &
- Ellipses
- Inverted commas
- Evaluative verbs

Exam 1 on Monday 19th of May
Topics(Fractions, Rounding & Mean, Median, Mode and Range)
Exam 2 on Monday 16 of June
Weeks 1 - 2 will focus on:
- Fractions
- Mean, median, mode & range
- Rounding (NAPLAN week)
- Decimal fractions
- Volume
- Integers
This term we will be looking at St. Paul's Letters. You will write a persuasive letter about an issue of your choice, convincing the readers to be faithful to the life and teachings of Jesus. Click here for the assessment criteria for R.E. this term. This will be due Thursday 19th June.
History
Imperial China - This term is going to be down right fun for history. You will be making a terracotta warrior head out of clay. This will be completed in Week 7 of the term. This will be in time for the parent teacher interviews the following week. So - some advice might be to go and find some designs you like. I have attached an image for you.
Science
Chemical Sciences will be investigated this term. There will be a series of experiments this term all relating to the chemical sciences. This is going to be lots of fun. So be prepared to be amazed.
